A Thank You Note
I threw a pair of old beat up running shoes that were past their life expectancy away today. Could we please take a moment of silence to recognize the life of my shoes please?

Is it weird that I have a hard time throwing old workout shoes away? My husband laughs at me. I realize how important it is to make sure you are replacing them when they are worn out – but they become such an extension of me! Most of days are spent in workout gear and shoes, so we’ve been through a lot together. We had a good run old friend. Thanks for taking a pounding and still coming back for more. Yeah this might be getting weird now.
I spent some time on the treadmill today and then did P90x Back and Biceps. I gotta say, the gal in this particular workout rubs me the wrong way. Every. Single. Time. Ha. I think she mentions that shes “glowing” when Tony says something about her being sweaty. I don’t know about you, but I get sweaty there’s no glowiness to be found.

I made some amazing homemade Kind and Clif type bars. The family was happy with each creation. I’ll probably do some recipes and tips for these soon. As for now, I’m off to watch a movie with the family. Goodnight!
PS: It looks like I may have had an issue with a plugin what was causing people not to be able to leave comments, sorry about that. Think it’s straightened out now.

I have 1 pair of black sneakers. I hate athletic shoes because i think they are ugly, but needed. I just want plain black ones, mine really need to be replaced. Idears?
Haha! I know I used to be really bad about caring too much what they looked like. I realized I had to get over it. Although I admit it’s still REALLY hard to find womens black shoes, what’s up with that? We all don’t want white shoes! Depends on what you use your shoes for
Shedding a tear for your old sneakers! I always feel bad throwing mine away but know they have lived a good life. Waiting patiently for the recipe to those bars – they look uber yummy!
LOL about the chica in the P90X vid–she bothers me too, however Michael doesn’t seem to mind (looking at her, i’m sure).
To answer your questions: I use a pair for about 500 miles or until something starts messing up in the inside (i get baby whale size blisters otherwise). I have 3 pairs in rotation: 1 for the treadmill and two for outside.
p.s. love the initial slider showing your weight loss journey. fab work, darling!
Yes! The bars were really good!
That’s good that you keep track of mileage. My dad tells me all the time I need to… alas I don’t.
I need to start replacing mine sooner I’m sure.
And thanks Marnie! xoxo.
In honor of your shoes, I bowed my head and took a moment. Happy movie night with the Family.
Much appreciated!
I always get so sad when I throw away a pair of old running shoes! Always such a sad moment..until I open the box of freshly purchased, brand new shoes! Your homemade bars look absolutely delicious!
That’s a really good point! I’ll keep that in mind next time I darn near have a funeral for old shoes
