Celebrating Dad: Powering Dad’s Smile Everyday
I’ve always pretty much been a Daddy’s girl (still am yo!) so I’m taking some time out to celebrate my own Dad and share a little bit about him with you all.
I grew up a military brat – so I have lots of Camo filled memories if you will. I was (and am) always super proud of my Father who was a Marine Warrant Officer. He was in the military for 22 years. He always said once he retired he would grow a beard, and learn to play guitar. I can say that neither of those things happened . Nowadays, he serves the public again as a Sheriff’s Deputy.
When I think of my Dad, I always think about the country music blaring in the garage while he was up to something outside. Buildling something, planting, or whatever else he could find to fix and or get his hands dirty. We are both very much alike, and often growing up this caused some butting of heads if you will (hehe) – but I couldn’t think of a better Dad to be a female version of.
My dad likes to remind me how proud of me that he is. Every once in awhile I like to remind him that I’m equally proud just to be his daughter!
Give your Dad (and yourself too) something to smile about this Father’s Day. Oral-B at Target has an awesome sweepstakes going down right now. Check out the deets:
Yep you read that correctly – awesome #oralbsweeps prizes for Dad (and or you) It’s over a $500 value. Pretty sweet. Just like Dad.
How I #SmileWithDad
Usually my Father’s Day gift’s are things I make my Dad – since I’ve always been artsy and into making things. Guess that’s something I haven’t grown out of! This year I made him the following digital scrapbooking layout that features a photo he passed to me recently.
The quote I choose for this one couldn’t be more true! I hope he likes it. But then again, I think he usually does appreciate my handmade gifts.
My Dad has a great smile doesn’t he?! Thanks for always being there Dad! Love you. Happy Father’s Day!
